What an exciting year we are having at Burnette Elementary.  We are blessed with dedicated teachers, exceptional students, and involved parents.  It is our goal at Burnette to meet the demands in preparing our students with 21st century learning skills which will allow them to become life-long learners in this competitive age.  An essential element in reaching this goal is having state of the art technology to enhance instruction and student engagement.  We were fortunate to open our doors with three computer labs, LCD projectors and document cameras in every classroom, and a Stratalogica Emap system available to all teachers.  Our next technology addition will be a Mimio interactive system in almost every classroom. 

If you haven’t had an opportunity to visit Burnette, please come by and have lunch with your child in the Lions’ Café.  We have a wonderful Cafeteria Staff who prepares excellent, nutritious lunches for our students, staff, and guests each day.  Please remember to have your ID available as you check in at the upper or lower lobby, and enjoy your lunch!

Our fifth grade students have recently named our morning news show LNN (Lion News Network).  They are in charge of the news show each morning.  Their responsibilities include preparing/editing the announcements slide show that airs throughout the day on the monitors in the office, media center, and cafeteria; managing the broadcasting equipment; directing cast members; running the teleprompter and cameras; and reporting the news.  I am so proud of the fine job they are doing using our state of the art broadcasting equipment!  You are welcome to drop by the Media Center, 8:40-8:55 am, to view the LNN morning news show.

Hull Middle School

Hull Middle School is located in Duluth, GA and is one of 24 middle schools in Gwinnett County School District. It is a public school that serves 2298 students in grades 6-8.

Hull Middle School made AYP in 2009. Under No Child Left Behind, a school makes Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) if it achieves the minimum levels of improvement determined by the state of Georgia in terms of student performance and other accountability measures.  In 2007, Hull Middle School had 16 students for every full-time equivalent teacher. The Georgia average is 14 students per full-time equivalent teacher.

Peachtree Ridge High School

Peachtree Ridge High School is located in Suwanee, GA and is one of 21 high schools in Gwinnett County School District. This school serves 3167 students in grades 9-12.
